The story

How we built Liana Brasserie

Liana opened on the Lindengracht in 2014 with twelve tables and a card that changes with the market. Ten years on it is still a neighbourhood brasserie: lunch and dinner, Wednesday to Sunday, wine by the glass and staff who remember your name.

So we built the site as the place everyone looks at during service: the pass. A steel rail runs across a tiled wall, and everything a guest needs hangs from it as a printed ticket.

01 — The brief

A full room every night, and a website that sent people to the phone.

01Guests asked the same three things: what is on the card, are you open tonight, can I get a table.
02The card changes with the season and sometimes with the day, so it had to be edited by the kitchen, not by us.
03Split shifts and two closed days meant opening hours were the most misread thing on the old site.
04It had to feel like the room: warm light, a working kitchen, nothing that looks like a booking platform.

02 — What we built

One page, hung from a rail.

01The whole card on four tickets: starters, mains, sides and desserts, each dish with a price and a single line of description.
02A live 'today' ticket that reads the week's split shifts and says whether the kitchen is open now, or when it opens next.
03Reservations on lamp-amber tickets, in the hero and again at the bottom, with the phone number for anyone who would rather call.
04One colour rebrands it: set the tiled wall to the restaurant's own colour and the text on it adapts. Tickets, steel and lamps stay put.
